How do I get rid of crystal violet stains on clothing?

I was in school doing an experiment, and some crystal violet dye splashed onto my shirt. I have been trying to wash it, but the stains wouldn't come off. This is my favorite shirt =(

How do I get rid of crystal violet stains on clothing?
Wouldnt acetone or alcohol soak it out? Try that.... usually these dyes are alcohol washable.... lemme double check for you though...

Yeah:

The first two stains – crystal violet and iodine – form a purple complex within the cells.

The decolorization step with ethanol is not able to wash the purple complex out of Gram positive

cells because they have thick cell walls. Therefore, the cells are purple at the end of the procedure,

i.e., Gram positive. If the cells are old or stressed (by, for example, heat or cold) their cell walls thin,

and the crystal–violet iodine complex is washed out. Iodine (the mordant) is essential; without

iodine, the crystal violet is rapidly removed from Gram positive cells.

So hopefully your shirt is not gram positive, and alcohol will soak it out!!! :))
Reply:use lemon juice. must work 100%
