How do I get an African violet to bloom?

Give it an African violet food formulation at the indicated dose and put it in filtered sunlight; let the soil dry a little between waterings. Deadhead it after flowering.

How do I get an African violet to bloom?
African Violets prefer a northern or north-eastern exposure of indirect sunlight. They do well also in artificial light (like a Grow Light). Water only from the bottom. Misting the plant occasionally is good. Water only once a week and don't drown. Water just enough for the plant to draw the water into the pot. Empty extra water from dish. Be sure to pick off dead or dying leaves promptly. Also remove the blossom clusters as soon as the color begins to leave the flowers. You will enjoy prolific blooms if you will keep your plant happy. You can tell if it's happy by sturdy rigid leaves and many blossoms.
Reply:Call a florist and they should be able to help you.I wish you luck as they are beautiful flowers.
Reply:water it
Reply:Give it a fertilizer with less nitrogen and more potassium and phosphorous.
Reply:Put it in the bathroom as it likes humidity.
Reply:High humidity, bright in-direct light for starters. It also helps to bottom water. Fill a large bowl with warm water and add a pinch of epsom salts, then set the plant in and let it soak til the soil surface is moist. Bottom watering also keeps moisture off the leaves. Another tip is consistent fertilizing and pushing a rusty nail into the soil sometimes does the trick. Hope this helps!
