What is the violet haze due to and why does it form?
A bottle containing solid iodine crystals fills with a violet haze upon standing at room temperature.?
the haze is iodine gas
it forms because when iodine crystals are heated they go through sublimation(S to G).
now u should let thi ssolution cool and the gas will deposit on the beaker and the crystal will form.
