How often are children born with violet coloured eyes?

65% of kids are born with it, they just end up changing color to something else but if I'm not mistaken about 0.0015% keep their violet color. So that's about 1 out of every 100,000 people

Reply:Eye colour depends upon the amount and type of pigments that are present in the eye's iris. Three main elements within the iris contribute to its color:

1.The melanin content of the iris pigment epithelium,

2. The melanin content within the iris stroma, and

3. The cellular density of the iris stroma.

The appearance of violet eyes is thought to occur from the mixing of red and blue reflections.

Since eye colour is a polygenic trait, it is inherited and is influenced by more than one gene.

Violet eye colour is not common and is very rare.. Sometimes, eyes of an albino also may appear to be violet...
